Description: There continues to be a growing market for essential oils (EOs) and, more recently, cannabidiol (CBD) oil. Audiologists need to learn more about CBD/EOs so they can counsel their patients who are thinking about using CBD/EOs for their auditory/vestibular complaints. This program examines CBD/EOs and their use for auditory/vestibular complaints. Counseling strategies are suggested. Speaker Bio: Robert M. DiSogra, AuD, is an audiology consultant in Millstone, NJ. During his 43 year career he maintained private practice for 30 years in Freehold, NJ until 2015. He received his Doctor of Audiology degree from the Osborne College of Audiology at Salus University. Dr. DiSogra has an extensive teaching, publication and lecture history on pharmacology issues as they pertain to the profession of audiology. He is the 2020 recipient of the award for Clinical Excellence in Audiology from the American Academy of Audiology and the 2016 recipient of the prestigious Dr. Joel Wernick Award from the Academy of Doctors of Audiology for his contributions to the field of audiology and hearing science. From 2013 to 2019 he served as the Chairperson of the Osborne College of Audiology Advisory Board at Salus University. Dr. DiSogra is US Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam era.
